We are pleased to announce the availability of the 338 ULTRA suppressor. The 338 ULTRA follows the development of the .30 cal ULTRA 5/7/9 and the 6.5 mm cal ULTRA 7/9 and applies the ULTRA suppression technology to the big-bore .338 Lapua Magnum.
The 338 ULTRA replaces the 338BA suppressor. Compared to the 338BA, the 338 ULTRA is 2-3 dB quieter, 33% lighter (16.9 ounces), and much stronger. Sound levels on a typical bolt-action .338 Lapua rifle are 135-138 dB.
The new 338 ULTRA is rated for .338 Lapua Magnum barrel lengths down to 16 inches.
The strength increases are due to design changes (ULTRA baffles), an upgrade to all grade 5 Titanium baffles and grade 9 tubing, and improved welding technology. All of our ULTRA suppressors are welded using robotic welders under real-time computer control that produce 100% penetration perfect welds, without overheating, every time.
The 338 ULTRA is backwards compatible with all existing 338 BA muzzle brakes. The new 338 BA muzzle brakes have been updated to the “CB brake” styling and have improved brake efficiency.
The price has not changed. The 338 ULTRA has a $1795 MSRP.
