Hi all, I have a client that is wanting their rifle threaded to run an Ultra 9, but based on the specs I'm not sure anything can be done. He has a Browning X-Bolt in 300 WSM 23" barrel. The OD at the muzzle is only .604" That looks like it might not be able to be threaded safely...could only do 1/2-28 but that won't work for 300WSM I wouldn't think lol. Could a thread adapter be used over the 1/2-28 if it was permanently attached? Cutting the barrel down is an option, but to get to where the OD would be large enough for 9/16-24 would make the barrel 16" or so. Is that too short for 300WSM on an Ultra 9? Thanks for any help or suggestions.
