I just picked up a 260 Rem with a 24" barrel and had been using a 308. What would be a good load for shooting in tactical matches for the 260? I will using my TB 308 suppressor on my 260.

Reloder 17, H4350, and H4831SC are the dominant powders for .260. The most popular two bullets are the 139gr Scenar and the 142gr SMK.

In one of your articles you indicated that RL 17 might be a slightly better powder for the 260 shooting 139-142 grn bullets. What would you suggest as a starting load?

Rifles are like women - they all like it differently. LOL!!!!!

What works in mine may shoot just ok in yours. There is no magical load that is a winner !!! Once you find something you like, then start playing with seating depth as that can really tighten things up.

    Starting 40gr should be safe.
