Is this shoulder gap too much?

2nd fitting of muzzle brake for a suppressor. Initially it came with a peel-away washer and I wasn't happy with the alignment. Pretty sure I screwed up the peeling of that washer (it was my first time). I ordered a set of shims from Precision Armament.

Shim kit came in today and was wondering if this is acceptable.

The brake is timed properly, and torqued down. This is the gap that is left.

Looks like a lot to me, but I'm a noob to this game. I expected there to be no gap.

Here is the front with a 6.5 surefire alignment rod.

Alignment looks fine, it could be a little better I suppose. Thoughts?

Absolutely not. Your threads probably do not meet the thread spec diagram. There is almost certainly no relief cut. That shim isn't doing anything

What is the smart move, cutting off the whole show and re-threading?

It can probably just be adjusted once it's chucked up in a lathe

    Hi,

We can fix the barrel, or any good CNC gunsmith should be able to.
