I have been shooting a lot of 308 subsonic loads through my 30BA and was considering casting bullets for this application, both for a more economic load and to potentially get better expansion at subsonic speeds. I know that improperly cast bullets can have stability issues which could ruin an otherwise fine day, but I figure a high level of due dilligence in casting and standard stability testing should greatly minimize this issue. I have also read that gas checks can come off inside the suppressor and be somewhat difficult to remove, which seems like more of an annoyance than a serious problem, but its an annoyance I have not been forced to deal with so I could be wrong. I am also uncertain that gas checks would even be nessecary at subsonic speed and associated chamber pressures, which could eliminate this potential issue all together.

Any advice or concerns regaurding this issue would be greatly appriecated.

Don't have any info on the gas checks, but otherwise if they are stable through the can you might just have to clean it out every now and then

I've been looking into this, and pouring through:
    http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=185&sid=66a7097bbd157684f96c4600910eae43
    and
    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/
for info. The gas port will gas cut the base of a cast bullet. If a gas check lets go, it could damage your can
Please contact (I have as well) X-Treme bullets sales@xtremebullets.com ,and Ranier shaneh@rainierballistics.com
requesting they produce a 220gr copper plated DEEP hollow point for 300BLK hunting. Ranier is already making @ 180g+ for Alexander Arms.
