    Zak,

How would the 338 Ultra compare to the Ultra 7 or 9 on the bigger 30 cal magnums (300WM, 300NM, 300RUM, etc)?

Could the 338 Ultra be used on a 300WM shorter than 18"?

Would there ever be a time you would prefer a 338 Ultra over the Ultra 7 or 9 on a 30cal rifle?

    Thanks!

Min bbl length for .300 Win Mag still 18", think you could go to 17"

The rule of thumb is that if you are going to be shooting 80% or more of your shooting on the big .30 cal magnums (with option of stepping up to .338), then go with the 338 Ultra if you want more suppression.

Could you take a rough guess at the additional db reduction stepping up from the Ultra 7 to the 338Ultra on the same 300WM?

Would it be enough to be noticeable? 2-3db, 4-6db?

This is a guess, but I am pretty sure it will be over 6 dB

How close to hearing safe (~140 db at the shooters ear) would the Ultra 7 be on a 20" 300WM bolt gun?

It would be close, I don't know that we've metered that combination
